How do I adjust the Jippie's hearing protector?
When you unpack the hearing protector, it is fully collapsed. First you push the shells down, out of the headband. Then you grip the shell firmly with one hand and slowly pull the legs upwards with your other hand. The hearing protector becomes almost 3 times larger. You then place the hearing protector on the child's head and slowly push the legs down again, until the hearing protector fits comfortably.
When not in use, the hearing protector can be folded and stored again.

Why is the Jippie's hearing protector recommended?
Young children have extremely sensitive hearing. Extreme noise and heavy bass can quickly lead to hearing damage that then manifests itself later in life. What can be done about this? Jippie's has the solution! This is because Jippie's hearing protectors are height-adjustable to the child's head.

What attenuation does the Jippie's hearing protector have?
Sounds from 80 decibels (db) can be harmful to your hearing. Sounds from 120 decibels onwards can damage your hearing directly. To give you an idea: when we talk to each other we produce 60 decibels, noise in the schoolyard 85 decibels, listening to music on headphones is 95 decibels, a concert produces 110 decibels and fireworks are even at 140 decibels. Now, it is not only the number of decibels that matters, but also the duration in which you have to deal with it. The higher the decibel count, the shorter you have to deal with it. An example: noise of 80 decibels you can 'safely' hear for 8 hours a day. Every 3 decibels is a doubling of the noise, leaving 83 decibels only safe for 4 hours a day, 86 decibels only for 2 hours a day, etc.

The Jippie's hearing protector has an attenuation of 25.8 db, meaning that this hearing protector attenuates noise by 25.8 db. So if you are in a room where it is 100 db, the hearing protector attenuates the noise by 25.8 db ( 100-25.8= 74.2 db).
